More and more beautiful pass of Tum Lum

​Khe Ca moor and Tum Lum pass are 2 place-names located in Tan Thanh commune, Ham Thuan Nam district. Tum Lum pass is along the beach (just small hills), and next to Da Dam pass in the direction from Ke Ga cape to Phan Thiet city; Khe Ca moor is a small moor in the middle of the forest, on the temporary horse road of the Nguyen dynasty, passsing across Ba Dang moutain to Khe Ca stream in Thuan Quy commune, today. Tum Lum pass and Khe Ca moor were too wild so that nobody dared come there.

To pass this area, many people gathering together both went and alert in order to repel tigers lurking in bushes.
Because of this wild element, a guerilla squad in Tan Thanh commune successfully intercepted a part of Division 1 of the Saigon regime on the way retreat to south and obtained tanks in 1975. The authority of Ham Thuan Nam district has called for investment in tourism, there have been many medium scale projects forming coastal resorts with more and more vistors in the area of Tum Lum and Da Dam pass, in recent years.
The previous path on the pass becomes lower after it was improved. Now, it is a section of the road 719 from La Gi town to Phan Thiet city. Resorts in this area are dominant to
 attract MICE visitors (being tourism of Meeting – Incentive – Convention – Exhibition). More than 5,000 MICE tourists have been to the area of Tum Lum pass for the last seven months. The figure is not small. There are many poplar forests along the beach for young males and females holding short day trips, or picnic tours. People previously feared for tigers snatching when crossing the pass, but it is only in the past.
